St. Catherine Hospital of Garden City, Kansas and EagleMed LLC (“EagleMed”) of Wichita, Kansas announced today the expansion of their existing partnership to include a new helicopter based at the hospital’s main campus in Garden City. The addition of the helicopter will bring advanced life-saving critical care air medical service to Western Kansas, Eastern Colorado and the Oklahoma Panhandle. The aircraft will be deployed from St. Catherine Hospital by the EagleMed communications center located in Wichita.
Beginning November 15, 2011, EagleMed will expand their already existing fixed wing presence by providing critical care helicopter air medical services to St. Catherine Hospital where critically ill patients will be provided with the care they need by a diverse selection of medical specialists. “In a medical emergency, a matter of minutes can make the difference between life and death. Having a helicopter will allow residents beyond Garden City to receive these life-saving services in a timely manner”, says Scott Taylor, President and CEO of St. Catherine Hospital.
Larry Bugg, President of EagleMed adds “St. Catherine Hospital shares our core values of safety, world-class patient care, and caring for each other. We are pleased to enhance our long-term partnership and it is an honor to be able to bring this additional lifesaving resource to the patients and community served by St. Catherine Hospital.”
