One of St. Catherine Hospital’s most significant milestones has recently turned one year old. The regional health care facility finished building a $9.5 million project that added sixty four new medical and surgical rooms in June, 2011.“The new rooms in the south patient tower have revolutionized the patient experience at St. Catherine Hospital. Our goal was to create an environment centered around providing high quality patient care in southwest Kansas. From the responses of our patients and the southwest Kansas medical community, we have exceeded our goal,” said Scott Taylor, CEO of St. Catherine Hospital.
The addition of the south tower includes the latest medical technology. “The move to the new tower was a welcome addition to St. Catherine Hospital. The ability to expand and grow gives us the room to increase the level of services provided in Garden City. We now have the space devoted to a Center of Excellence specifically for Orthopedics as well as house 24/7 rotor-wing air ambulance crew quarters,” said Victor Hawkins, Executive Director of Marketing & Development.
The expansion of St. Catherine Hospital would not have been possible without the generous donations made to the St. Catherine Hospital Development Foundation, which consists of community and associate-driven fundraising, as well as by charitable gifts from individuals, corporations and other foundations.
