St. Catherine Hospital celebrated the Feast of St. Dominic as well as their 75th anniversary by hosting a community wide cook-out and celebration on the south lawn of the hospital.   The cook-out was St. Catherine's way of saying thank you to the community for 75 years of support.  Approximately 2,000 Garden City community residents enjoyed great food, great music by Magnum Rock, games for the kids, tours of the hospital and booths hosted by local physicians and various hospital departments. 

The Spiritual Care department hosted a booth promoting the Feast of St. Dominic by passing out prayer cards and rosaries to  picnic attendees.  A drawing was held for several donated prizes from local businesses.  The winners were: Grill from Sears-Brooke Rogers, Corner on Main Gift Certificate-Sandy Scaia, Walmart Gift Card-Ruth Ridge, Ehresman Packing Company Gift Certificate-Fr. Jim Baker and a Target Gift Card-Laurie Fry.  Based on the attendance and the laughter, the event was a huge success.
