Diabetes Education Program Receives ADA Certification

The American Diabetes Association recently awarded its Diabetes Education Recognition Certificate to St. Catherine Hospital for meeting the national standards for providing quality diabetes self-management education.

To earn this distinction, St. Catherine Hospital voluntarily submitted to a rigorous review process conducted by experts in the field of diabetes. The program was evaluated for its ability to provide patients with a comprehensive individualized education program as part of their diabetes treatment.

“We are dedicated to providing people with diabetes the knowledge and skills that they need to manage their disease and lead healthy, fulfilling lives,” said Scott Taylor, St. Catherine Hospital president and CEO.  “Our education program is a valuable resource for patients with diabetes and for their physicians as well.”

The American Diabetes Association certification assures patients that they are receiving state-of-the-art information about diabetes management from expert staff.  The certification gives professionals a national standard by which to measure the quality of the services they provide and it helps consumers identify these quality programs.
