St. Catherine Hospital is proud to accept the Business Achievement Award in the service category from the Kansas Department of Commerce. A panel of judges from the business community selected one Business Excellence award winner and recognized Business Achievement and Merit winners in each category for all seven regions of the state out of 270 entries. St. Catherine was nominated for this award through their continuous support to the community. St. Catherine is a strong supporter of local schools and sponsor students’ purchase of books and other reading material. They also donated time by allowing hospital staff members to visit and read to students at their school. Their support does not only help children, but St. Catherine provides assistance to teenagers through a task force designed to help students explore a career in health care. Additionally, St. Catherine partners with the KU Medical Center’s surgical program to give medical residents the opportunity to practice in rural hospital.
