The energetic men and women who volunteer at St. Catherine
Hospital are your friends and neighbors. They provide special
services and make a patient's stay more pleasant. In 2003
these dedicated volunteers gave a combined total of 24,385
hours to the hospital.
Volunteers are a vital part of St. Catherine Hospital and
are here to meet patient and visitor needs. Volunteers perform
a variety of tasks. They deliver patient mail and flowers,
act as medical office escorts, serve as volunteer chaplains
and Eucharistic ministers, and staff Benincasa, the St. Catherine
Hospital hospitality house for families of patients. They
serve as liaisons between surgery staff and family members
by keeping the family informed of the progress in surgery.
They also staff the front information desk and volunteer
in the Gift Nook.
